i'm a software engineer (ew), and part-time writer, and occasional tiktoker.
one of my favorite stories is about how the creation of tubed paint contributed to the rise of impressionism. another youtube video i watched (and can't find) talked about how the rise of laundromats, streaming services, and food delivery systems have made our generation increasingly lonely. while it is easy to focus on the bad, i'd like to think about technology as a series of habit-making interfaces that can skew our behavior in different ways. thus, i'm interested in using technology to build spaces that encourage us to engage more thoughtfully with other people and our surroundings.
anyways, these days, i'm probably vibe coding little apps, sitting in the vital sauna, or trying to get my advanced diving certification.
